Wizard of Oz Chipboard bookStacie Guerra - Scrapping Deck CrewmemberAs we wrap up the year, we are cruising into Russia. It’s time for the holidays and time to celebrate with friends and family. Before we get to my article, let’s take a look at the sketch that was submitted last month. ![]() This is a great Christmas layout completed by a fellow crewmember, Brook. I love how she used different patterned papers and stars as the embellishments. I also love to see the joy on the boys’ faces on Christmas morning when they saw what Santa left for them! As you may have noticed there is not a sketch here this month. The reason for that is because this is my last article with SSR. I have been with SSR since the very beginning and have loved every minute of it. Life has just gotten in the way, so now it’s time to say goodbye. I did want to share one last article with you and be able to say goodbye. So this month I am sharing a board book I made for my daughter. A few months ago, I shared some layouts of my daughter from a theater camp she attended this summer. From that camp, she was able to snag a role as a munchkin and an Ozian in a major production of The Wizard of Oz. It was such an honor for her to be asked to do this and she loved every minute of it! I wanted to create a book for her to have to remember this very special event. Here are a few of the pages from this special book. This is the front cover of the book, the pages of Jordan as a munchkin and an ozian, the pages of her autographs of the stars, the pages of some of the people that came to see her in the show and her signing an autograph, and the end of the book. This was a plain chipboard book that I added paper, paint, and ink to.
If you have a special memory that you want to preserve, this is a great book to do it with. I hope I have inspired you to try something new even if it is out of your comfort zone (it was definitely out of mine!). As I write this last article, I look back on the many articles I have written in the last four years. I hope I have given you inspiration to try something new, sparked your ideas, and helped you out of your comfort zone. Enjoy your voyage into 2008 on the great SSR!
