Rusty Pickle Warehouse Visitby Linda Quinones Are You Afraid? I am new to scrapping. In a way it has an advantage. I have not been down the path of a “favorite” manufacturer or technique. Getting together with other scrappers and visiting different companies is always a great experience because I am exposed to so many ideas. I don’t have a “box” so I am not afraid to step out of it. Have you drawn yourself into a “box”? Are you afraid to go beyond your boundary???? Recently, I was able to visit the Rusty Pickle warehouse where Jen gave me insight into a company that is not afraid to cross existing manufacturing boundaries and step way out of the box. ![]() ![]() ![]() Rusty Pickle started in 2003 when Lance and Tasha Anderson had ideas for a vintage type scrapbook paper design. No one was interested so they went out on their own. These days it is a challenge to keep their product in stock. They also broke boundaries when they decided to keep all products “made in the USA” and packaged in the USA. Before they knew it, Rusty Pickle was a leader of new designs and products in the industry. They introduced chipboard (yes, the stuff we love!) and coil bound albums. In the coming year, Rusty Pickle will introduce 28 new papers (pets, family and others), chipboard alphabets, stickers and albums. Rusty Pickle is changing some of the styles of paper to come. I love the new pet collection. It is fun without being too “cutesy”. Also, the family line has a light, retro feel that will work well with current photos or those photos from days past that you have such a hard time matching. So, what’s my point? You have to step out of your box and not be afraid. Try that company product that you stepped away from years ago. Try a new technique. Try an old technique. Check out the new lines from Rusty Pickle or any other company you have not used or heard of. It’s possible that your “box” just might expand a little.
