Tri-Panel TributeSandi Christen - Altered Deck CrewmemberWelcome aboard the S.S. Reflections cruise ship and a big welcome to Sandi's Altered Ocean View. I want to thank Cap'n Dawn and all the crew for selecting me as a new designer. My altered brain fits right in with the new Rusty Pickle collection called "Under the Stars." My imagination was sparked by the colors and choices of patterns. As soon as I saw the collection, I thought of my Dad and how much he loved to fish. This project became a tribute to him and all that he loved to do. Any fishing hole was his home for a day. Once I had most of the designs and patterns selected for my project, I then decided use the "Home" stamp collection from Artistic Outposts. I chose the word "Home" and the antique truck stamp "Country roads take me home," which fit perfectly with this project. I chose an inkpad from Stewart Superior to use because it has the perfect ink cushion for edging cardboard or paper. This product never lets me down because the pad keeps its firmness and shape.
On the first panel I selected the fisherman and the fish to represent what I was trying to convey with the tri-panel tribute to my dad.
The middle tri-panel was the central focus of the tribute. I selected a picture of my dad that was in a local paper showing his catch of the day. The background paper is a map which totally goes with the stamp of the old truck from Artistic Outposts.
The third and last tri-panel was selected as an inspiration to friends, to whom my dad would send a postcard saying, “Look how much fun I am having fishing and wish you were here.”
Think about a special someone in your life and think Tri-Panel Tribute. Go on, you can do it!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, who doesn't need thank you notes? I designed a few thank you notes using Memories Mist and Noir Black Palette stamp pad from Stewart Superior. I have never used Memories Mist and they are so versatile. I needed to match the color of the mist with flowers I wanted to add to the cards and after a search of my stash I realized I didn't have anything I could use. I decided to experiment with the Memories Mist and spray some white flowers to see how it would look. Well I was pleasantly surprised to find the flowers took the spray wonderfully!
