Curry, rice and intense spices. INDONESIAN FACTS (found on www.tourismindonesia.com and www.joglosemar.co.id/batik.html) : Batik is associated with Indonesian art. The motifs of Batik, are symbolizing something. Some of the motifs are :
Batik, in Javanese means 'To Dot'. Basically there are two kinds of batik; Batik Tulis (hand drawn) and Batik Cap (stamped). The price of batik tulis is much more expensive than batik cap. AUSTRALIAN FACTS (found on www.australia.com) Australia is the sixth largest country in the world. It's about the same size as the 48 mainland states of the USA and 50 per cent larger than Europe, but has the lowest population density in the world - only two people per square kilometer. The kangaroo is unique to Australia and one of our most easily recognized mammals. With 24 million head of cattle, Australia is the world's largest exporter of beef. Aboriginal art varies from traditional dot and bark paintings, modern screen prints, decorated jewelry and wood carvings, to boomerangs, didgeridoos, weapons, ceramics, and scarves. Dot painting is, by definition, the use of dots of paint to create an image of native plants, animals or natural phenomena. Using natural ochres and oxides, dot painting is one of the best-known forms of Aboriginal art. Dot painting on paper was introduced as an alternative to bark in the past few years as it was seen to have a distinct advantage for both artist and buyer. Most importantly, bark removal can often kill a tree. Paper is also available year round whereas bark removal can only be carried out six months of the year. No worries mate! Enjoy the cruise!
