Using Digital Sketches to Scrap Fast!Ramie Ahlstrom - Scrapping Deck Cruise DirectorI’ve been using sketches as inspiration in my scrapping for at least four years. I first started when the Becky Higgins sketches became the rage in Creating Keepsakes magazine. Sketches are a quick and easy way to lay out papers, photos, and embellishments, without having to think too hard! Now, with two little ones at home, and a husband who travels WAY too much for work, I have to scrap fast, or not at all! Between raising and entertaining the kids, keeping the house standing and the yard in check, it's all I can do to squeeze ten minutes of scrapping into my week. But, thanks to digital sketches, I can get lots done in a short time! I’ve really enjoyed using Jen Caputo’s layered sketches. I’ve seen others online, but haven’t tried them yet (mainly because Jen was so generous with the ones she designed for us…I downloaded them ALL!). Here are a couple of layouts I’ve done with Jen’s sketches:
I’ve used traditional sketches that were designed for paper scrappers and they are inspiring, but a little harder to incorporate into digital scrapping, so they take a little more time. I enjoy them though, and still use them in my paper pages as well! I hope that you’ve gotten a chance to play with Jen’s sketches! I’m off to hunt down where she’s creating these days, so I can find more sketches to play with!
