Recipe Pages—We all have to eat sometime!Ramie Ahlstrom - Scrapping Deck Cruise DirectorWe all have our favorite recipes, whether they have been passed on from generation to generation or were snatched out of a magazine last week. I’ve had all of mine floating loose in my kitchen or stuffed into cookbooks for safe keeping. But, while unpacking after our last move, I decided that the time had come to clear the clutter (in more ways then one, but we’ll only discuss the recipe collection today!). I decided that instead of having 100 or more loose pieces of paper, I’d start creating recipe pages for them and add to my already busting-at-the-seams recipe scrapbooks. So I’ve worked at it gradually and have about a third of them done (although not yet printed...). I’ve had great fun finding digital scrapping kits in my stash that coordinate with the recipes, and, I’ll confess, I bought a few new sets too! Here’re some of my favorite recipes on digital pages that I created recently:
Recipe pages make great gifts. You could create mini-albums of your favorite recipes to give to new brides or kids going off to college. A collection of recipes gathered from family members and then scrapbooked would make a fantastic gift for each member of the family. Even kids can get in on the action—give them a blank page or two to decorate and then add the recipes over the top. Or, take pictures of them helping to prepare, and then eat, a favorite dish, and include those pictures on a page with the recipe. I don’t love to cook, but I need to eat so I do it. Having fun recipes to use makes it more fun, and having another reason to scrap doesn’t hurt either! Be sure to check out the new Photo Forum for more of my recipe pages! And, if you’ve got recipe pages (either paper or digital), be sure to share them with us! You can post them at the Photo Forum after a simple registration (if you aren’t already registered).
