Altered Game Box

July Greetings,
As SSR cruises into Denmark this month, it reminds me of one of my favorite children’s authors ~ Hans Christian Anderson. He was born in Denmark and wrote some of the beloved classics like The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina, Little Mermaid and Emperor’s New Clothes! I had full intension of creating an entire set of altered children’s cards themed specifically around Mr. Anderson’s stories, however before I could get to that, I had a very unfortunate health matter come about and have been stuck on bed rest. Thankfully time is passing quickly enough and I have a wonderful little helper (my 7yr old daughter) who was happy to lend me a hand in getting my project together this month.
Here in the United States we are preparing to celebrate the 4th of July! Independence Day! Our family celebrates this holiday by attending the town parade, bbqing, swimming and play games. My daughter and I decided to put together an altered “Game Box” to tote our favorite games along with us while we visit family and friends. This was a simple patriotic project that could easily be adapted into something else like a toy storage box, craft storage, bath storage, a gift box for your next baby or bridal shower, the possibilities are endless. We used paper, 3D sticker embellishments and lots of double-sided tape!!
