Junkitz

From the time I was a small child I have enjoyed creating things with fabric. I remember working very hard on creating a skirt by cutting my own pattern and hand sewing all of it when I was eight years old. Of course, my mother wouldn’t allow me to wear it in public, but I sure was proud. I have sewn for myself, my children, and my home ever since. So, when I saw the new Junkitz line a while ago I immediately fell in love. Stacey and Kenny Panassidi sure have come up with a winner with their line of buttons, zippers, zipper pulls, fabric swatches, and other products connected to the great world of sewing to use on our scrapbook projects.

Stacey is an avid scrapbooker, who kept seeing buttons placed on scrapbook pages and Kenny is a manufacturer of buttons and zippers. So, together with their combined knowledge they started their company. Before this, however, Stacey had decided to paint a spare bedroom to look like SEI paper and make it her scrapbook room. She took photos and shared them to her local scrapbook store to hopefully drum up business to paint rooms for other scrapbookers. The owners of the store loved what she had done and took the photos to HIA and showed them to SEI. They immediately called Stacey and used the photos in their ads. While they were talking Stacey asked them if they would be interested in buttons died to match their paper. That is how Junkitz was started. They are also producing buttons for Bazzill and Chatterbox

I love using different textures and colors in my layouts, but I hadn’t used much fabric in my layouts until Junkitz came along. I found it the perfect way to add softness and texture. I had also never used zippers but with the Junkitz self-adhering zippers I have found the perfect way to add some “zip” to my layouts. Their products are so unique and fun that I know anyone could benefit from using these wonderful items.

I would also recommend visiting the Junkitz website to see their wide variety of products. They also have a listing of stores that carry their items and a beautiful gallery to get additional ideas.

As you view my layouts I hope you will see some fun ways you can add Junkitz to your layouts and projects. It sure is fun.
