California!

We made our way around Mexico through the Panama Canal and now we're enjoying the beautiful coast of California! We have so many ports to visit along the coast as we cruise north. The photo featured above is of the cliffs of San Diego at sunset and was taken by the cousin of our Managing Editor, Ramie! I can't wait to go inland and visit Hollywood and Disneyland and Legoland...and the list goes on! As we cruise north we will sail under the Golden Gate Bridge and make our way up towards the Oregon coast. We have quite a few of our crewmembers who live in California so our plan is to stop by for a lovey cup of tea and a visit. Now, I'm sure you are very anxious to read all that the crew has created for you so lets get on to the business at hand.

Now would be a great time to join our Yahoo! Ezine Group and be part of all the fun. We have Wednesday tip day, COMMS on Monday that anyone can participate in, lots of fun with the Caption Contest and a great time encouraging each other with our art. If Yahoo! Groups aren't your thing, we also have our message board and the interactive SSR Reader's Gallery! You can also join our myspace group if you enjoy myspace! This group is still new and just getting off the ground but we'd love to have help getting things moving! Be sure to say hi to Chell our PR Director!

The goal of S.S. Reflections has always been to make the world just a little bit smaller and that you can enjoy (virtually) visiting as many parts of the World as we can! Please be sure to share your own inspirations with all of us and we have made this even easier for you with our interactive SSR Reader's Gallery! If you are having trouble uploading to the photo gallery please feel free to email Diana at dianascott@ssreflections.com as she is our officer in charge! I know several of you have written to me, but I'm clueless on some of these issues! Diana is our resident expert and I'm sure she can help you!

    EDITORIAL DECK

On our Editorial Deck we have a fun and fabulous monthly Caption Contest! The card to the right is our Caption Contest card for March! You'll need to join our Yahoo! Ezine Group to post your caption ideas! The March contest is sponsored by Frances of Hearts in Touch! This month we are also launching our brand new Reader's Gallery Contest! The winning design will be featured in our April issue! Our special guest designer this month in the Stateroom is Cindi Evans with a fabulous idea for using up those CD's you are getting in the mail! You are going to love this project for your craft area!

    SCRAPPING DECK

Now on to the Scrapping Deck! Anita's step by step tutorial this month is creating poppin' pastels with a twist on her layouts! The effect is just gorgeous! This is Becky's last regular feature with SSR but Becky will be back as a guest as her schedule allows! Becky is doing the first of a special cross deck review on the Twisted Papers CD's. Becky is doing her review from the perspective of a paper scrapper! I know you will love the incredible layout she created using many different backgrounds. This month is also the last feature from Cindi as Cindi's family and work commitments are pulling her in many directions these days. We will miss Cindi so much but, she has promised to come back as a guest on occasion too! Cindi is enjoying the California life by sharing lots of beachy keen layouts! The layout to the right was created by Cindi! Jill is crazy for cardstock and is sharing lots of different ideas for using your cardstock! Jill is creating her own elements for your designs with cardstock and they are beautiful!

    DIGITAL DECK

On our Digital Deck this month, we are sad to tell you that this will be the last regular feature from Dyan. Dyan has been my first mate for 3 1/2 years. She has helped me with so much as we have created SSR to be what it is today and I will miss her so much. I know Dyan will be back on occasion as a guest when time permits but I will miss her not being around on a regular basis. Dyan's last feature with SSR is teaching us how to add special effects to our projects. The card to the right is very appropriate don't you think? Ramie is teaching us (beginners) how to use the brush tool in Adobe Photoshop! This is a very informative tutorial that will really enhance your digital layouts! Tricia has done the Digital Deck perspective of the Twisted Papers CD's! Tricia has created some gorgeous layouts using the background papers on these CD's. You are going to get so many fabulous ideas on what to do with these discs! Yvonne is sharing her favorite idea books/magazines for the digital scrapper with us. These are well put together tutorials that will help anyone who is creating digital scrapbook pages and projects!

    STAMPING ARTS DECK

Now on to the Stamping Art Deck! Andi Andi has done a fabulous feature no nostalgic Hollywood! Her artwork is just fantastic and so in with our theme this month! Debi has done a fantastic review on the Twisted Papers discs with the stamper in mind! As usual, Debi's designs are fantastic! Flo is enjoying our cruise to California and has been anticipating this for months! You can tell just be seeing the thought that went into each of her designs. The card to the right was created with the theme of Casablanca in mind. Captain Renault orders his officers to round up “The Usual Suspects” after learning someone has been shot. Flo has other ideas in mind when she hears this quote but you'll have to read her feature to find out what it is! Judy's book review this month is "Distressables 2" by Tim Holtz. It's hard to believe that Judy has been with SSR for almost 2 years already and each book review she does surpasses the previous one. Judy has a way of bringing each idea book to life in our craft rooms. I don't know about you but I can't wait to try out the techniques that Judy brings alive in her reviews.

    ALTERED ARTS DECK

Now on to the Altered Arts Deck! Michaela We are spending some time visiting Michaela who is very much at home in California! She is going to share some of her favorite places and her beautiful family with us this month! Robin is doing the Twisted Papers review for the Altered Artist at heart. Robin has some fabulous ideas to use these wonderful discs of backgrounds! It is obvious that Robin had a whole lot of fun playing with these backgrounds! Her projects are fantastic! Sue has done a step by step tutorial for creating a scrapbook in a box! It is a fabulous project to create! You can see the inside as it is on display to the right!
