All Dolled up!Cindy Cade - Stamping Deck CrewmemberDon't you love this time of year? I am one of those blessed ones with two young children at home to share the holidays with. It makes the season so much fun. You can bet I will have them all dolled up for Christmas! Dolls are the theme this month. Fat ones, thin ones, fine porcelain or corn shuck and every where in between - dolls seem to touch every girls heart. Why I bet the daughters of Adam and Eve had dolls! I said every girl's heart, but I recall when the boy's dolls came on the scene. Oh what topics of conversation that started and many were heated discussions too! Then there were the anatomically correct dolls. This one still incites debate! Well, my dolls may stir up some thoughts but hopefully only happy ones. I wish only to inspire you to enjoy dolls all over again. After all we are never too old to play! Let's create!
With dies you can make clothes in any pattern. You can make dolls for every occasion. You can even make fridge magnets and let the kids play with them there. Be prepared to save all of your scraps of papers, material, ribbons and lace because even those tiny pieces will be handy here!
How about a doll to wear or embellish with? These are way cool to make and I have yet to wear one that doesn't elicit lots of comments and questions. As I said before there is just something magical about dolls that touch us all. Funky!
Here is another pin only instead of shrink, we are using clay, matte board and UTEE. Again the options are endless and I will share a few extra ideas to get you going. Grab your embossing powders, your metallic rub-ons, and some fun embellishments and show me your stuff! I think he would be great on a frame don't you?
These little dolls came on the scene a year or so ago. I had planned to make these for last Christmas but hey I am only a year late. Not too bad huh? When making these dolls you can stamp, draw, paint or, as I have chosen, transfer your design. Yep, I made a boy doll. Jayne will have to wait for hers. I think these will be their Christmas ornaments this year!
And last but not least, let's box it all up in a doll of course. You can use a purchased box or make your own with Red-Castle's Fit-it CD, or even use free templates that you find on line. You can make nearly any shape or size you like. Choose to work inside or outside of the box or both!
What fun that was! I suspect kids are going to like my article this month even more than usual. Some of it they will not see until Christmas, that is if "I" can hold out that long! Looking ahead, January will have us taking a look at numbers. Nope, I am not talking about the bathroom scale! We'll save that for next Halloween. :<> Until then you can sign me…..
