Do Me A Favor!

Cindy Cade - Stamping Deck Crewmember

We all have those times when a little gift is needed. While you don’t hear the term that much any more, these little gifts, often given at parties, are called favors. Sometimes they are just little remembrances of the event. Often they have a purpose, perhaps a poem or photo to remind you of the day. Naturally children’s favorites will include candy and adult’s favors might include or be a piece of jewelry. Well I can dream right? Whatever you choose, make something to fit your theme and budget. We will take a look at a few items that, I hope, will help you on your way!

Perfect for that tea party, flower garden party or mother/daughter banquet. A sweet gift to lie beside their cup of tea. Don’t you agree?

This one is aimed at a boy’s party. It could work for a father/son banquet as well. Load it with tooth picks, business cards, candy, a “dog tag” or a little zip lock bag to use as a pill box. It would be a fun place for clues in a hide and seek game, too!

Here is one for our darling long haired divas. I love recycling soda pop cans, don’t you? When my dear daughter saw this she gasped and asked if she could have it. Unfortunately she is five and recently played with the scissors (many of you moms know what happens then). She will now have to wait for her hair to grow. Perhaps if I keep making her hair barrettes and clips she will be more motivated to leave it alone? One can only hope! Ü

How about a practical fan? I am fifty and tend to get a bit warm. I bet there are a few women out there who can relate. *Ü* Anyway I have found that little hand held fans usually create more body heat than relief. Solution? If you don’t want to use one of those dandy battery operated jobs, just create your own long handled fan. They take less work and you get more air. Besides, you are likely to have the items already on hand!

Finally, summer will be here sooner than you think. This lollipop cover is quick and easy and can be made to match any holiday or occasion! Since it is a mini folio, no glue is needed. Make an arrangement for the picnic table. Now aren’t you the hit of the party?

I hope you will do me the favor of coming again next month. Unless my plans change we will be “planting” some ideas for spring! Creatively,
