An Inchie a Day Makes My Muse Want to Play!

The inchie craze has hit SSR in a big way! I was a little skeptical when I first saw inchies come onto the scene. I swore that I would not ever be interested in trying them. I even got close to making them by cutting up one inch squares and putting them into a tin but that was it. I kept looking at these tiny little squares of cardstock and thinking that there is no way I could make a piece of art that tiny. It just wasn’t possible. Finally I joined a swap for alphabets and figured I would try it and that was all it took. I have not looked back. I had been making the process way too complicated. After all it is an inch of space, if you screw it up what are you really going to lose? An inch of cardstock and that is it. Besides, it is a good way to use up those tiny little bits of pretty paper and tiny little embellishments. I have a little box that I throw tiny little items in just for inchies. I am recycling and creating art at the same time.

So, once I started making them I, of course, had to make a little book to put them in. We had the alphabet swap that got me started on the SSR ezine Yahoo group with 26 people each making one alphabet inchie. The creativity that each person put into these little masterpieces was amazing. Naturally, I had to make a little plaque to add them to. They will be hanging in my hallway with all my artist friends names printed out on the back of it for all time. Enjoy my little gallery of inchies, and if you want to learn more about making them, please visit Robin’s Altered Stateroom. Also, to get a closer look at the Inchie Alpha Swap, please visit Donalda’s Swap Gallery.

Thank you for visiting me this month. I enjoyed sharing my art with you this month. I will see you again soon. Enjoy your journey!

Happy Sailing!
