| Calendar PagesRamie Ahlstrom - Scrapping Deck Cruise DirectorCalendars. Whatever you use them for, wherever you get them, they are one of the many things used daily by most people. Around the world calendars hang on walls, memo boards and refrigerators, reminding their "owners" of birthdays and anniversaries, things to be done, or appointments to be attended. With the start of this New Year, I'm sure each and every one of you has a new calendar. Why not double up the purposes and use your calendar like a scrapbook? Record the good times, the sad times, and everything in between. For almost two years, I've been recording all of life's "little moments" onto calendars for my daughter. I've recorded, to the day, every new tooth, her first smile and her first steps. Yeah, I have it all in her baby book too, but what harm is there in backup?? (he he he) There are several options for using calendars as "scrapbooks". You can create your own scrapbook-calendar using premade blank calendars, available at most craft stores, or you can incorporate your everyday calendar into your album pages. You can also create smaller versions of calendars, to be used on a desk, or carried in a purse. Basically, if you've seen something in a scrapbook, or have seen a calendar type you like, chances are you can recreate it as scrapped calendar pages.
Here, I've created a small desk top calendar using an accordion album. I've been dabbling in digital scrapbooking, so I used my computer a lot on this project, and added only a few simple embellishments. Be sure to check out Tonya's Advanced Cyber Cafe and

Incorporating your everyday calendar into a scrapbook page is super simple! All you have to do is adhere the calendar page to the layout like it's a photo (albeit, a large one!)! You can decorate the page around the calendar, add embellishments onto the calendar, then simply slip it in a page protector. You can also design a facing page to match, including photos from that month, or you can just put the calendars in your albums. Either way, your everyday memories will be included in your album!
As you can see, I've added pictures to the opposite pages from my calendars. I hope that these will give my daughter a closer glimpse into the good times we shared in her first years. Calendars have been such an easy way for me to keep up with the new things she does, as I can easily add tidbits of info and I can do it on a daily basis, since I walk past the calendar each day anyways! Here's a few more pages:
I hoped you've enjoyed learning some of the basics about calendar pages, and how to incorporate calendars into your scrapbooks. Happy New Year!!!
