Happy New Year Everyone! This month I will be featuring Dee Gruenig’s fabulous “Fruits” stamp set from Sunday International and Kokuyo Dot ‘n’ Roller and Tape ‘n’ Roller Plus acid free permanent adhesives.

Dee Gruenig has done it again, created an excellent set of stamps, Fruits #80 Signature Stamps, that includes thirteen stamps. When you purchase Dee’s Signature Design sets, you receive premium EZ Mount static cling cushion stamps that are far less than the cost of mounted stamps. With each set of stamps you receive a color indexed board that fits a standard three ring binder and rubber stored by cling on the back. These stamps work perfectly with an acrylic block to ensure precise placement. The “fruit” stamps for this product review work equally well with any project you can imagine. My ideas include cards, magnets, and ceramic tiles, wrapping paper, curtains and kitchen towels. All stamps from Sunday International are made in the USA and are guaranteed to work perfectly forever.

Kokuyo sent adhesives, several refills and literature featuring the Dot ‘n’ Roller and Tape ‘n’ Roller Plus Adhesives. A few features that impressed me about this adhesive are you can take them anywhere because they have a retractable cap; they cut automatically when you lift up on the dispenser and they go around curves with ease. These adhesives are available with refills available in both permanent and repositionable styles.

In this review I will be featuring these nice product donations:
  • Kokuyo U.S.A. has provided Dot ‘n’ Roller and Tape ‘n’ Roller Plus; they are perfect adhesive to apply gold leaf, foil, embossing powder, embossing tinsel, and micro glass beads.
  • Dee’s newest Watercolor Fruits; thirteen premium EZ Mount stamps provided by Sunday International.

I used a resist technique on the cover page using the mini fruit and then stamped, colored and applied the mini fruit to the cover. Each recipe page was made using a fruit stamp that was inked with brush markers, cut-out and applied with the Tape ‘n’ Roller adhesive. To complete each page, I distressed with inks and watercolors. The word “recipes” on the cover page was made with my digital craft cutter and my binding tool was used to complete this book.

I was inspired to make this card using the pear stamp with an embossed checked frame. The Tape ‘n’ Roller Plus was used to complete this card. I hope you give these adhesives a try; they have been used in each of my projects with the exception of the towel.

Wouldn’t this make a wonderful gift? Several of our grandchildren want me to make a whole set using the fruit stamps. For this sample project, I painted the watermelon stamp on a strip of muslin, and then enhanced the watermelon with black seeds using a simple hand-stitch. To finish, I turned under the raw edges and machine stitched the stamped piece to the towel. My finished piece is 15” x 24” with a 3 ¾” border.

I used brush markers to paint the small apples on my digitally cut paper bag. The window opening was made with my craft cutter as well. The bag is held together with the Dot ‘n’ Roller adhesive. A small bag of dried apples was placed in the bag for a quick gift.

I had a lot of fun using five of the fruit and basket stamps to make this card. Marvy markers were used to color the stamped fruit on glossy cardstock and distress heat embossing powder was used on the basket image before cutting out and applying it to the card with the Tape “n” Roller adhesive. For a more authentic design; I cut away the stamped leaves and the stem from the pear.

Thanks, Sunday International and Kokuyo for furnishing these nice products for this review. To learn more, contact SundayInt.com for all of Dee Gruenig’s Signature Designs using the EZ Mount cushion and Kokuyo USA, Inc. or your local hobby and craft store for the Tape “n” Roller Plus and Dot “n” Roller Adhesive.

Until next month!
