Hauntingly Transparent

Transparent cards achieve a whole new dimension in greetings. The images and papers used appear to hang suspended in midair. With the right supplies and a little patience and know-how, you can create eye-catching cards that your friends and family will love to receive. They might even ask “how’d you do that??!” And here’s what you tell them.
The secret is in the supplies. I used transparency sheets created just for use in ink-jet printers! One side has a slightly “toothy” texture that really grabs and holds on to inks of all kinds. I used pigment and solvent inks in these samples, but dye-based inks work just as well. However, if you use dye-based inks, be prepared for a more transparent appearance to your stamped images.
Glue Dots in the Dot ‘n Go Dispenser are an essential element in creating transparent cards. They hold everything from foam or paper flowers and buttons to panels of decorative paper and altered photographs and other embellishments.
Sample 1: Gift tag with stamped background.
Sample 2: Stamped background with multiple layers and embellishments.
Sample 3: “BOO” card with decorative paper background and stamped images.
