Ship's Captain

Hi ya! We made it! We're in jolly old England the place that is home to me! I'm so very excited to finally be in England! I've literally been waiting a whole year for this port. Some of you may know that I was born in England. My father was in the Royal Air Force and my Grandfather was in the British Secret Service for most of his life. This is where I get my yearning for travel as it's been in the veins of my family for many generations. My Grandfather was a true hero during WWII and has been decorated many times, and even invited to royal weddings throughout Europe because of his service. Most of my family still lives in England, and we visit with them as often as possible...but that actually means that they come to us. We've not been back to England for 11 years now. I miss the rolling meadows and the large hedges bordering the lanes. Fish and chips, the smell of fireplaces burning, the milkman delivering our daily needs of milk, fresh juice, eggs and bread. Roast beef and yorkshire pudding...hmmmmm... I think I'm hungry!! Some of my favorite places to visit are Bath, York, Cornwall and London. I have so many fond memories in these beautiful ancient cities.

If you are a member of either of our Message Board or our ezine yahoo group you will know that Ramie, Marilyn and I just returned from the Memory Trends trade show in Las Vegas (last night!). We have a very special EXCLUSIVE to share with you this month and I can't wait to tell you about it! We've had to keep this quiet for 2 months now...I guess we should tell you what we have huh? You've been reading all about them in the magazines, on the yahoo groups and they were finally released at Memory Trends. If you haven't already guessed, we HAVE THE NEW DISTRESS INK COLORS!!! Elizabeth has done a fabulous review on the new colors and already has designs to share with you featuring the true colors! We feel so privileged to have this honor from Ranger to share with all of you! You are going to love these new colors and you can even order them from Hearts in Touch!

Our Designer’s Challenge this month was sponsored by Fibers by the Yard and we are again privileged to share with you the brand new products that Tracey has developed just for Memory Trends! Tracey has released an amazing product called the FBTY Textile Stiffener. You just brush this stiffener on the fabric, let it dry and then shape it where you want it to go and your shaped ribbon or fabric is STIFF and it will stay that way! FBTY has also released a line of fabric tags, twill ribbon and ribbon! Laura has also written a fantastic article with some wonderful ways of using Fibers By The Yard that you won't want to miss.

We finally have a picture of Cindy wearing her new SSR t-shirt with the winning logo on the back in the Purser's Store! I'm sure you will agree that Cindy looks wonderful in this photo!! We really appreciate Cindy taking the time to model the new shirts for us so that I can share it with you! We now have a new printer and they are doing a fantastic job! The inks are bolder, and the image is simpler so it actually stands out better! If t-shirts aren't your thing, don't forget that we also have two different types of tote bags. Our sweatshirts are AWESOME and as the weather is starting to turn, now is the time to order one! We are offering a special 15% discount on all orders as a special Fall sale!
