Ship's Captain

Aloha! Welcome aboard another fabulous cruise with the crew of S.S. Reflections! Our cruise this month brings us to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands! We're going to visit very special friends this month while we are here which you will hear more about as you read further. Once again we are showing you paradise as we cruise around the islands. We'll share beautiful sunsets, hikes, surfing, scuba diving, whale watching, even look for a few sharks! Just sit back and relax, drink some juice in a fancy glass with a paper umbrella and some cherries as the crew brings you just a little bit closer to Hawaii without actually having to be there!

If you are joining us for the very first time, let me explain what S.S. Reflections is. We are a completely FREE online magazine with a truly unique concept. SSR is a virtual cruise ship from the Golden Era, here to entertain you as we visit a new country/port each month. We have an amazing crew who create designs and share ideas with you each month from various areas of the ship. Our fly- out menu bar to the left can take you anywhere on the ship that you would like to be. It will guide you through each deck on this magnificent ship! If you'd like to read each and every feature, at the bottom of each page is a blue arrow and a link to click which will take you to the next page to read. We also have Intro Pages for each deck. On these pages is a ship's wheel with each of our crewmembers pictures inside - you can click on the wheel and read a short fun bio for each designer. You can also click on the name of their room on the ship and it will take you directly to their article, or you can email each crewmember directly by clicking on their name! Please write to us and tell us what you love about SSR and anything you have read about here!

Cap'n Dawn was a featured guest on the Diva Craft Lounge Talk Radio Show on May 4th at 2:05 PM Central Time. You can hear the segment by clicking Here!! This is an internet radio show so EVERYONE can listen to it!! Please tune in and show your support!!

We had so many beautiful submissions to our April Scanned Art Contest! These contests are getting harder and harder for our judges to choose. Now, having said that, it is with great pleasure that we announce that Alison Jones is our FIRST Place Winner! Alison won a $50 gift certificate for Bound2Remember services! Our SECOND place winner is Laurie Knight!! Laurie won a $25 gift certificate toward Bound2Remember services. Our THIRD place winner is Joan Petty!! Joan won a $10 gift certificate toward Bound2Remember services! If you'd like to see the winning photos, please click here. All the winning designs are displayed on the Contest page! Alison's winning design will be the month of May in the 2006 calendar! CONGRATULATIONS to all three of our winners! Our June contest category is a Digital Layout Contest! These are your digital Layouts submitted using Summer theme using Blue as our color theme of choice! Please size your image to 475 pixels (longest side) for submitting to the contest. We need it in a much smaller size for the magazine. But, be sure to keep your image in the proper scan size for the calendar if you win! So, you'll have 2 sizes for your image. Both are important! We need to have your submissions sent to editorialsubmission@ssreflections.com with your permission to publish and print your submission. Please also include your name, address, phone number and products used if you know them!

Last month Cindy Cade of our Stamping Deck had a fun card Caption Contest in her article! It was such a huge hit with our Ezine Yahoo Group members that we have decided to make this a regular feature on the magazine each month! The prize will be the stamp that is featured for the caption contest each month! The card on the right is the card for the May Caption Contest! The Ezine Yahoo Group members voted for their favorite caption and the winner is....

"Mirror, mirror on the wall I am my mother after all!"
By Angie Secrest from Maryland

If you'd like to see the details please click on the card and it will take you directly to the page with instructions and the card to be named for June! I told you we were having all kinds of fun on the Ezine Yahoo Group!

Did you know that we send out a bi-monthly newsletter when we change our Reader's Gallery each month? The newsletter is FREE and is full of up-to-date information on what is happening on board our magazine! If you would like to receive our newsletter you can sign up for it HERE. If you are a member of the Ezine Yahoo! Group then you know that we just had a membership drive! We've had many new members and we are having a wonderful time sharing ideas and tips and techniques. We hope that you will join us as we share ideas and tips on our Wednesday Tip Day! We have weekly challenges for both the stampers and the scrappers and monthly swaps! I can't tell you how excited I am to introduce to you my dear friend Chris Dunrud and have her come on board as our very special Celebrity Headliner this month! Chris and I met for lunch recently so I took the opportunity to interview her for this feature!

As we are travelling to Hawaii it just makes sense that we bring Debra Zeleznik of Rubber Stamp Plantation into our VIP Lounge this month! Rubber Stamp Plantation is based in Honolulu, Hawaii and has it's own line of beautiful rubber stamps, stickers and specialty items! In fact, I have a very special Hawaiian license plate Lei from Rubber Stamp Plantation on my little car! I hope you enjoy this extra special feature as much as we've enjoyed planning it for you! Deb is also a friend and I'm thrilled to introduce her to you!

Our Designer’s Challenge this month was sponsored by Rubber Stamp Plantation! I've just told you about the wonderful designs you can find at Rubber Stamp Plantation and now you can see some beautiful artwork created by our professional designers using these fabulous stamps!
