From the Helm - Welcome to SSR!

I have been so excited about our trip to Alaska as it has been a dream of mine visit this area of the world for many years. We'll cruise up the coast of Oregon, Washington and visit Vancouver as we make our way to Alaska. We can stop and take day trips inland to see breathtaking scenery and visit some of our crewmembers who live in this part of the country! We could even visit the Queen of Beads, Suzanne from Pennywise Arts and our old shipmate, Dawn Shepherd of Mother Rubber Art Stamps, Lindy's Stamp Gang, DeNami Designs and so many other wonderful companies! We can all create together!
Now would be a great time to join our Yahoo! Ezine Group and be part of all the fun. We have Wednesday tip day, COMMS on Monday that anyone can participate in, lots of fun with the Caption Contest and a great time encouraging each other with our art. If Yahoo! Groups aren't your thing, we also have our message board and the interactive SSR Reader's Gallery! You can also join our myspace group if you enjoy myspace! This group is still new and just getting off the ground but we'd love to have help getting things moving! Be sure to say hi to Chell our PR Director!
The goal of S.S. Reflections has always been to make the world just a little bit smaller and that you can enjoy (virtually) visiting as many parts of the World as we can! Please be sure to share your own inspirations with all of us and we have made this even easier for you with our interactive SSR Reader's Gallery! If you are having trouble uploading to the photo gallery please feel free to email Diana at dianascott@ssreflections.com as she is our officer in charge! I know several of you have written to me, but I'm clueless on some of these issues! Diana is our resident expert and I'm sure she can help you!
AC Moore Craft stores and Sizzix™ are looking for enthusiastic experienced Class Instructors.
Class Instructors will be teaching customers how to use the Sizzix Brand Products in Home Décor, Fashion, Jewelry and Papercrafting projects.
We are starting this program in 10 local stores through out the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware area.
The program will extend out to all 126 stores located in the North and South East portions of the Country.

Last month we announced our brand new Reader's Gallery Contest. I missed a couple of questions about the contest on the ezine list and I apologize for that. So, we'll start fresh this month with a new theme and hopefully a better explanation! Each month there will be a new theme for the contest which is open to members of our SSR community. SSR Crew members are excluded from the contest. You may enter as many times as you like. All entries must be based on the theme for the current months contest. All entries must be uploaded to the SSR Reader's Gallery! Entries must be uploaded no later than the 20th of the month so we have time to conduct a poll. All members of the gallery can vote!
As we celebrate April and Easter our theme for the Reader's Gallery Contest will be:
This theme can include Easter finery, Halloween costumes, Christmas outfits, last year's prom for layouts or our stampers can use a photo stamped card of a woman dressed up or a shoe collage...I think it can only be limited by anyone's imagination...so have fun with this!!
At the end of the contest a poll will be set up on the message board. The winner will be announced when the upcoming monthly issue is launched! The winner will receive prize package valued at $25 which is sponsored by Keepsake Designs.
We hope that you are taking advantage of our program to actually purchase the designs created by our amazing designers! All you need to do is click on the thumbnail of your favorite design, and if it is for sale it will be listed at the bottom of the supply list. You can email the crewmember directly for information about purchasing the design featured! Shipping and handling are not included in the price of the design. Insurance is required on all sales. This beautiful mermaid card was created by Judy Cantrell and it can be all yours!

On our Digital Deck this month Yvonne is cropping many pictures of her trip to Navy Pier in Chicago. Yvonne is teaching us how to digitally scrap all the photos we take when we get carried away with lots of pictures for one outing.
Now on to the Stamping Art Deck! Debi has done a fantastic review on the various color washes on the market today with some gorgeous samples to inspire you! Just look to the right for one sample of Debi's work! Flo is teaching us all about watercolor pastels and remembering a time when she would shake off the winter lethargy with the warm breezes coming off Puget Sound. We're so lucky to have Flo inspiring us to shake off our own winter lethargy with her beautiful pieces of art. Judy's book review this month is "Ink Essentials" which is co-authored by Contributing Artists courtesy of Ranger Industries. This "How To" book is very helpful and provides you with a list of all the tools and supplies you will need for each project with tips and techniques included with each project as well as step-by-step directions. I'm sure you will agree that Judy's artwork is a fantastic accompaniment to this book review!
Now on to the Altered Arts Deck! Michaela is celebrating spring by creating a gorgeous altered birdhouse the scrappers way! Just take a look to the right to see for yourself!! Sue is going to share with you a compact, attractive album for you to store your ATC's in. ATC's are all the rage and so much fun to swap! Sue's georgous album is inspiration to all who created ATC's!
Our Interactive Reader's Gallery! is not just for showcasing your scanned images, its also for your photos and your digital layouts! We want to see everything that you are proud of! So, come on in and share what you are most proud of! We all want to see and we can't wait to see what you create for the Reader's Gallery Contest! The beautiful digital layout featured to the right was created by Tracy Sundling! So, don't be shy...share your ideas with us!! You just never know what we'll feature next or who we'll ask to be a guest designer on SSR!! IT COULD BE YOU!!! The photo gallery is so much fun and filled with fantastic designs...stamped art, digital layouts and scrapped layouts not to mention the photo gallery! You can upload all the designs that you want to share with us ANYTIME you'd like! We have an opportunity to make comments and talk about the products you used and the techniques! Spring is in the air and in my house that means spring cleaning! It's raining this weekend and a little cool to open the house up for fresh air but everyday is different, it could snow tomorrow or be 80 degrees! You just never know what the weather will be like at springtime so take time out of each day to find the blessing. The rain today will mean daffodils tomorrow. I love watching the green hue on the trees and bushes as spring erupts. I hope you have time this month to be inspired by all that you see on SSR and with what God has created for us. Please share your art, your photos and your layouts with us. We want to see them!
